2010-6-8 Botanical Gardens

We went to explore the Denver Botanic Gardens in June and had a great time. Some of the flowers were really amazing. Owen walked all around and started to say "hwa" which means flower in Chinese.

2010-8 New apartment

2010-7-Gavin and Shelly

July was a great month, full of family visits and fun. Papa Jon started singing with a new Acappella group. Shelly and Gavin came to Colorado to announce their engagement, and we grew lots and lots of carrots.

2010-5-28 Grandma Arline Bday

This was on June 28th at Grandma Arline's birthday in Denver at Andy's house. This was the first time Owen met his cousins...when he was awake and just starting to walk around. Some of he pics of the full cousin group are really great! They were all trying to take care of baby Owen and be his "protector"

2010-7-10 Matman Wedding

This is Owen's first camping trip. We went to my good friend Matthew's wedding in Paonia Colorado and there we camped, hiked and played by the river. Owen loves the tent!

2010-6-16 Eldorado Canyon

This is when we went to Eldorado Canyon in Boulder to hike around. We had just bought a new baby backpack to carry Owen and it worked great especially since we only paid 10bucks for it at Savers. What a find!

New Apartment in Denver

Well we moved into our new apartment in the south of Denver and so far so good. Owen has been so great! He is starting to run, he is just now using double syllable words A- Yi or aunt in Chinese. He seems to understand kisses and hugs which is great. He says bye bye to the toilet water when we flush and tugs on my fingers at 7am every morning to play ring around the rosies... so he can say DOWN and sit down. We grew some carrots in our garden in Niwot and we have a bunch of them in the fridge and he loves them. He eats the fat end and leaves the pointy parts on the floor. We really have a nice bond between the three of us. I love that he wakes up and says baba. Sharing duties has really had its perks.

Owen Started to Walk!

I have been pretty bad about keeping a log of things that Owen has done so far but I think I will start here. So it was not today that it happened for the first time but as of May 17th 2010 Owen took his first little steps by him self while walking between a table and a potter on the roof of the London Hotel in LA during a wedding. Angela and I looked at teach other and tears swelled up in our eyes. It felt like that first time when we both heard him cry. What an amazing experience! to watch your little boy go from a little bump in the belly to his own feet is a lot of work but its wonderful fulfilling work that does not make you tired but leaves you feeling like you are building something beautiful like a boat that will some day be pushed out to sea and needs lots of care in building at every little part.
